1000-1600 Stand With Those Who Serve Event
Stand With Those Who Serve is hosting a free Washington State In-Progress Violence Symposium and ALERRT CRASE training. In-Progress Violence includes, but is not limited to active shootings, stabbings, explosives and multiple person coordinated attacks against the general public.
The ALERRT Center at Texas State University will deliver the 4-hour, CRASE Train the Trainer to Law Enforcement Officers. This training is for Law Enforcement officers and agencies that are frequently requested by schools, businesses and community members for direction and presentation on what to do if confronted with an active shooter event. The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) train-the trainer course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT which provides strategies, guidance and proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Participants in the four train-the-trainer course will receive a manual and Power Point presentation suitable for use in their own presentations free of charge. ****CRASE training is for commissioned Law Enforcement Personnel only.****
The objectives of this In-Progress Violence Symposium are to promote and advance the science and art of police and fire coordinated response, communications and command and control to acts of In-Progress Violence. To examine lessons learned and after action reviews from recent critical incidents that we have experienced here in Washington State and take those back to help develop and disseminate best practices, policies and procedures to promote their use in pre-planning for critical incidents. To look at the future trends of In-Progress Violence that might occur in your jurisdiction based on national and international trends. Lastly, to look at some of the current training models being used cooperatively by Fire and Police to have a coordinated respond to acts of In-Progressive Violence.
